Broken Hill’s newest cultural initiative, the Red Dirt Film Club Inc, is excited to announce its official launch.

This is the beginning of a cinematic journey for the Broken Hill community. The Red Dirt Film Club Inc is dedicated to creating a vibrant hub for film enthusiasts to gather and enjoy a diverse range of films, from timeless classics to groundbreaking independent cinema.

Well-known local community advocate Gigi Barbe and 40-year veteran owner of Mt Vic Flicks (Blue Mountains) Ron Bayley, spent many a Friday afternoon at Welcome Table discussing the idea of a film club in The Hill.

And the Red Dirt Film Club Inc was born. President Ron and Vice President Gigi have rallied an active and knowledgeable committee of 9 members. Theatre 44 has offered a ready-made venue with a large screen so film watching can start asap.
