THE CONVERT
In 1830s New Zealand, a lay preacher with a dark past, Thomas Munro (Guy Pearce), arrives at a British settlement and becomes entangled in a violent tribal war. When he saves a young Māori woman, Rangimai (Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne), he is thrust into a conflict between warring tribes, his own faith is tested, and he must embark on a journey to deliver justice to the Māori people, all while grappling with the realities of colonialism and a system of entrenched racism.
